1 tablet contains: cetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg.
Auxiliary substances: torakhmal pregelatinized, lactose monohydrate, starch, povidone (K30), sodium carboxymethyl starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate. Shell: hypromellose, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide, talc, aluminum lacquer based on a crimson dye (Ponzo 4R).
Cetirizine Hexal is a blocker of Hi-histamine receptors. Affects the “early” stage of allergic reactions and reduces the migration of eosinophils; limits the release of mediators (“transmitters” of allergy) at the “late” stage of an allergic reaction. Practically no anticholinergic and antiserotonin action. In therapeutic doses, does not cause a sedative (sedative) effect.
Hay fever, allergic rhinitis (runny nose), conjunctivitis (inflammation of the outer skin of the eyes), dermatitis (skin inflammation), urticaria, angioedema (allergic edema).
Renal failure, pregnancy, breastfeeding, hypersensitivity to the drug.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Mode of application
Adults and children over 12 years old are prescribed in a dose of 10 mg in 1 reception in the evening, during meals or 5 mg 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening). Children from 2 to 6 years old - 5 mg (10 drops) 1 time per day or 2.5 mg (5 drops) 2 times a day (morning and evening). Patients with renal insufficiency are prescribed half the recommended dose.
There may be mild and quickly passing drowsiness, agitation, dizziness, headache, dry mouth.
During the period of treatment, it is necessary to refrain from engaging in potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration of attention and quickness of psychomotor reactions. The simultaneous use of drugs that suppress the central nervous system is not recommended. Data on the interaction of cetirizine with alcohol has not yet been obtained, despite this, the use of alcohol during treatment with cetirizine is not recommended.
Symptoms: taking the drug once at a dose of over 50 mg may be accompanied by signs of intoxication in the form of drowsiness, anxiety, and increased irritability; signs of anticholinergic action may appear in the form of urinary retention, dry mouth, and constipation.
Treatment: induce vomiting, flush the stomach, take activated charcoal, consult a doctor immediately.
There is no specific antidote. Hemodialysis is ineffective.
