Indications

Amebiasis, urogenital trichomoniasis, nonspecific vaginitis, giardiasis (intestinal and hepatic), surgical infections caused by anaerobes.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

During pregnancy, flagella is prescribed with caution, and during lactation, breastfeeding is stopped.

Side effects

Nausea, metallic taste in the mouth, anorexia, epigastric pain, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, allergic reactions (urticaria, pruritus), leukopenia, peripheral neuropathy, with prolonged treatment with large doses, brown-reddish urine staining may occur.

Composition

Mode of application

For amebiasis, flagyl is taken orally - at 1.5 g / day for 3 doses (adults) and 30–40 mg / kg / day also for 3 doses (children) for 7 days. With giardiasis - for adults - 750-1000 mg / day, children 2-5 years old - 250 mg / day, children 5-10 years old - 375 mg / day, 10-15 years old - 500 mg / day for 5 days.
With trichomoniasis in women (urethritis and vaginitis) - once in a dose of 2 g or as a course of treatment for 10 days - 250 mg 2 times a day and 1 vaginal suppository per day.
With trichomonas urethritis in men - once in a dose of 2 g or as a course of treatment for 10 days, 250 mg 2 times a day.
When nonspecific vaginitis - 500 mg 2 times a day during the week. With anaerobic infections in adults - 1-1.5 g / day, for children - at the rate of 20-30 mg / kg / day.
