pharmachologic effect

The drug, which activates the metabolism in tissues, reduces tissue hypoxia, improves trophism and stimulates the regeneration process. It is hemoderivate, which is obtained by dialysis and ultrafiltration (penetrate compounds with a molecular mass of less than 5,000 daltons). It has a positive effect on glucose transport and utilization, stimulates oxygen consumption (which leads to stabilization of plasma membranes of cells during ischemia and reduced lactate formation), thus possessing an antihypoxic effect. Actovegin increases the concentration of ATP, ADP, phosphocreatine, as well as amino acids (glutamate, aspartate) and GABA. The effect of Actovegin begins to appear no later than 30 minutes (10-30 minutes) after parenteral administration and reaches its maximum, on average, after 3 hours (2-6 hours).

  • metabolic and vascular disorders of the brain (including ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury);
  • peripheral (arterial and venous) vascular disorders and their consequences (arterial angiopathy, trophic ulcers);
  • wound healing (ulcers of various etiologies, trophic disorders / bedsores /, burns, wound healing disorders);
  • prevention and treatment of radiation injuries of the skin and mucous membranes during radiation therapy.

  • decompensated heart failure;
  • pulmonary edema;
  • oliguria;
  • anuria;
  • fluid retention;
  • hypersensitivity to the drug;
  • hypersensitivity to similar drugs.

Dosage and administration

The injection solution is administered in / a, in / in (including in the form of infusion) and in / m.
Depending on the severity of the clinical picture, the initial dose is 10-20 ml / IV / IV, and further 5 ml IV / 5 ml IM / d are administered daily or several times a week.
With the introduction in the form of infusion to 200-300 ml of infusion solution (isotonic solution of sodium chloride or 5% dextrose solution) add 10-20 ml of Actovegin. The rate of injection is about 2 ml / min.
With metabolic and vascular disorders of the brain, treatment begins with a daily intravenous injection of 10 ml of injection for 2 weeks, then 5-10 ml intravenously / 3-4 times a week for at least 2 weeks.
In ischemic stroke, 20-50 ml are diluted in 200-300 ml of infusion solution and injected into / into the drip daily for 1 week, followed by the introduction of 10-20ml / drip for 2 weeks.
In case of peripheral (arterial and venous) vascular disorders and their consequences, 20-30 ml of the drug are administered in 200 ml of an infusion solution in / a or b / w daily; treatment duration is about 4 weeks.
For wound healing, inject 10 ml i / v or 5 ml i.m daily or 3–4 times a week depending on the healing process (in addition to local treatment with Actovegin).
For the purpose of prophylaxis and treatment of radiation injuries of the skin and mucous membranes, an average of 5 ml i.v. is injected daily in the intervals between radiation exposure.
In case of radiation cystitis, 10 ml are administered daily transurethrally in combination with antibacterial therapy.

special instructions

In connection with the potential for the development of anaphylactic reactions, it is recommended to conduct a test (test injection of 2 ml IM) before the start of the infusion. In the case of the / m method of use, the drug should be administered slowly in an amount of not more than 5 ml.
